weekly report data seems off.

 Dear All,

We have come across an "issue" that the Web usage Top 10 users by time is way off than "usual".

is this anything one can properly monitor or is it just a data that looks fancy, as determining the time a user is on the network is borderline impossible AFAIK. So should we just disregard or can we somehow find the root cause (Except if truly, the users were not "surfing" that much this week).

Thanks for any feedback.

BR,

Gergö

  • Hi

That time is counted based on the number of requests received by Sophos UTM from a machine. So it usually shows the time during which requests were made to UTM proxy.

  • Dear Jaydeep,

thank you for your reply, we were aware that this is calculated like this, but the issue is that we have about 1/5th of the times as usual. As for my experience other vendors like Barracuda and Checkpoint store these kind of data in different databases that can be "read" by humans if not easily, but then merely the frontvend representation is off. Is there such a way to check the statistics on the back-end of the device, or is this not the way it is built?

    Thank you again!

    Kind Regards,

    Gergö
