Backup/Restore from ASG V8 to UTM 9?

Hello all,

i want to update my old ASG v8 to UTM 9. Unfortunately the Backup/Restore (from 8.316 to 9.509-3) via WebAdmin won't work as accepted and ends without any configuration restored:
The Configuration daemon log-file shows "restore failed"

2018:05:12-13:33:27 asg confd[3289]: I main::top-level:476() => id="310k" severity="info" sys="System" sub="confd" name="snapshot restore to /cfg failed"

and only one warning before:

2018:05:12-13:33:27 asg confd[3289]: W main::single_upgrade:1217() => id="3100" severity="warn" sys="System" sub="confd" name="missing or broken upgrade" error="Can't use an undefined value as an ARRAY reference at /var/confd/Upgrade/NUTM4753.pm line 36." upgrade="NUTM4753"

Do I have other possibilities to check the Restore procedure or to analyse the Backup-File?

The Restore during the Start-up configuration does not finished too: only the backup-file was imported multiple times.
Also I tried several backup-files (automatic ones and a new manual backup).

Best regards!

  • Hallo N and welcome to the UTM Community!

    You should have no trouble doing this.  I would reload from ISO using a DVD burned at 4x or slower.  Did that allow you to restore successfully?

    and thanks for your answer!

    The installation of UTM 9 finished successfully: both entries of config daemon log were created with UTM version 9.509-3 during the restore process:

    Could a DVD-failure lead to an properly working UTM-9-installation only unable to restore a backup?!?

    Best regards
