problem releasing quarantined emails

when trying to release an email via the quarantine report we get : "The e-mail could not be released from quarantine because it might have been released from the quarantine list."

the email is still in the quarantine and can be released from the admin console, but not from the email link to the end user

any ideas?

Do you see anything in the SMTP log when the user clicks the release bottom? What is the port you are using for the Quarantine report?

hi :)

no, i've opened live smtp log while clicking the release and no movement there

also, the port is correct because i can release some other emails. this looks like a one time event, but i'm trying to verify if i have a wider problem

So if nothing else works, I would assume that the database is corrupted. You can reset it with:

/etc/init.d/postgresql92 rebuild

or

/etc/init.d/postgresql rebuild

via Shell.

However, this will result in the loss of collected statistics, quarantined emails and SPX passwords.

I don't think the quarantined emails will be lost, Thorsten. I think the rebuild just builds a new quarantine database based on the files of the quarantined emails.

Twelve years ago, the following could be used to rebuild only the SMTP database:

/var/mdw/scripts/smtp stop
dropdb -U postgres smtp
createdb -U postgres smtp
/var/mdw/scripts/smtp start
