UTM 9 appliance: up2date packages arrive with great delay

Hi everyone!

Our UTM ASG 925 appliance offered up2date package 9.409009 on March 26th and a little later up2date package 9.411003.

The appliance is currently running 9.408-4.

1. Why is there over a month of time between release of the fix and appearance on the appliance?

2. Should I install them one by one?

Hi Ulf,

the device is configured to search how often for updates?

it searches for updates every 2 hours.

okay, strange. Has the ASG a direct connection to internet or is it behind some router or something? This could be one problem I could imagine. Otherwise maybe someone else has an explanation.

You could try to have a look in the log, maybe there is something like

Could not connect to Server us1.utmu2d.sophos.com ...

Hi,
the ASG is behind a router but has transparent connection to the internet. I see both errors and successful connections to the update server in the logs, so this does not really explain the long delay.

How are you determining that there's a long delay? What do you see when you do the following command at the command line?

ll /var/up2date/sys

Hi,

according to this forum, the updates were released end of December / end of February, but offered end of March.

The directory is currently empty.
