PPPoE not working

Good morning ladies and gentlemen,

I'd like to ask if you can help with a PPPOE issue in Sophos UTM 9. The problem is, that the UTM cannot connect via PPPOE to the internet. My home network setup should look like this: DSL (PPPOE, ISP: Inexio) --> Zyxel VMG1312-B30A modem ---> Qotom Mini PC (6 NICS, delivered on Thursday, that's where the Sophos UTM is installed). I installed the UTM via USB drive and everything works as it is intended, except the PPPoE connection. I configured eth1 (Port 2 on the Qotom Mini PC) as the WAN interface and set it up as it is described in the Sophos Knowledge Base, but in the dashboard it shows two times "OFF". It makes no difference, if "VDSL" is checked or unchecked.

I used the Zyxel modem in connection with a MikroTik router and this one gets a internet connection right after entering and applying the login credentials we got from our ISP. When I connect my Mac directly to the Zyxel modem via LAN, I get a public IP, so this should be fine.

When I connect the UTM via LAN to the Fritzbox router we have at the moment and set eth1 port to "Ethernet" and dynamic IPv4, the internet connection works as it is intended (of course this is not a favorable setup due to double NAT but for testing it's ok). When I connect the UTM back to the Zyxel modem and switch eth1 back to DSL (PPPoE) it doesn't work.

In a community post I read, that someone changed the WAN interface from DSL (PPPoE) to Ethernet, but that doesn't work either. I then tried all other options for the type of connection, but none worked.

Then I resetted the Zyxel modem and deleted and configured the WAN interface again, but nothing solved the problem.

The assignment of the ports in the UTM on the hardware seems to be right. eth0 is configured as the LAN interface and when I connect the ethernet cable from my Mac to Port 1 on the Qotom Mini PC, it gets an IP adress from the LAN network. With my two DMZs on eth2 and eth3 in UTM and Port 3 and 4 on the Qotom it's the same. So this should be ok.

I chose eth1 for WAN connection, because when I set up UTM for testing in a virtual machine, I got internet access only on eth1 and not on eth0 or somewhere else.

I also tried eth4 (in UTM, Port 5 on Qotom Mini PC) for PPPoE connection, but this didn't work either.

Here's the log of the PPPoE connection:

Can someone help me with this?

Thank you very much for your help!
