Intel x520-da2 - only one port

Hello,

I recently switched a couple of Intel i210s for x520-da2s. To do this I did the following:

  1. powered down
  2. removed old nics
  3. inserted new nics
  4. turned back on

Upon booting, both the new nics were recognized and available, but only one port on each. How do I enable both ports on each nic?

Many thanks in advance.

  • Hi,

UTM OS is not plug-n-play.  Apparently, the i210 driver will work for the first port, but not the other.  Your only solution is to re-image from ISO so that the x520-DA2s are recognized and their driver loaded.  You can confirm that these NICs are supported by consulting the UTM HCL.

I'll move this thread to the Hardware forum.  If your NICs aren't in the official HCL, check the Unofficial HCL at the top of the Hardware forum.

    Cheers - Bob

  • Thanks as always BA. I will try a fresh install and see what happens.

  • Reinstall sadly had no effect. Each card shows only port available.

Interestingly they're being reported as X520-2 not X520-DA2

Does someone more knowledgeable than me know the nuances between these two models? Have I been mis-sold?
