Sophos Connect with SG

Hi,

 

ich war letzte Woche Donnerstag auf der Sophos Partner Roadshow in Berlin und da wurde während einer Präsentation erzählt, dass es auch eine Möglichkeit gibt Sophos Connect mit der SG zu benutzen.

Leider finde ich dazu keinerlei Informationen Online, wie das zu bewerkstelligen ist.

Habt ihr eine Ahnung oder eine Anleitung, wie man das umsetzt?

    Hallo Dennis,

    ich vermute mal wieder, dass hier Software mit Hardware vertauscht wurde.

    Die Appliances sind identisch egal ich eine UTM betreibe oder eine XG. Es ist und bleibt die SG Hardware.
    Diese sind nur anders gelabelt und die LED leuchtet bei UTM orange und bei XG blau

    Soweit ich es bis jetzt gesehen habe, ist der Sophos Connect Client eine SFOS Software (XG Firewall).

    Man kann natürlich auf einer SG Hardware das entsprechende Firewallbestriebssystem installieren.

    Entweder man installiert die UTM Software 9.x oder die SFOS 17.x, egal was ich vorher bestellt habe.

    Hat man auf der SG Hardware das SFOS installiert kann man natürlich auch den Sophos Connect Client damit verbinden.

    Falls Du eine bessere Auskunft haben willst, wende dich doch mal an den Presales von Sophos.

    Das ist leider nicht, das was ich meine, aber danke für die schnelle Antwort.

    Es wurde erklärt, dass man aufwendig durch bearbeiten der Konfigurationsdateien den Sophos Central Client auch für die UTM Firmware lauffähig machen kann und so nicht mehr für jeden Benutzer eine eigene VPN Konfigurationsdatei erstellen muss.

    Das ist für unseren Kunden bei der Anzahl der Benutzer einfach nicht praktikabel.

    dann wende Dich doch parallel mal an den Presales.

    (Sorry, my German-speaking brain isn't creating thoughts at the moment. [:(])

    I don't have the link at hand, but I read in the English VPN forum that the client that comes with the XG will indeed work with UTM.  When you check with pre-sales, find out if there are any licensing issues and then coe back here to share that with us.
