Hi All,
I've had my UTM running for a while now, however I've only just started to notice that my download speed has slowed significantly when I use my UTM.
My UTM is installed on an old Toshiba Satellite Laptop that has a dual core celeron processor running at about 2Ghz, 4GB RAM, and 125GB SSD. It only has one NIC, however I've bought 2 USB adapters.
My network architecture Goes like this:
Sky Router (SR102)--> UTM --> ASUS Router (RT-AC87U) --> Client Machines.
The issue that I'm having is that whenever I connect my UTM in its current location, it slows my internet speed to around 5Mb/s, where as when I remove it, I get around 70Mb/s. This reduction is crippling me to such an extent that I've currently take the UTM out of the loop.
I've disabled absolutely everything on the system with only an IPv4 Any -> Any rule in the firewall yet still no joy. I know that it's not the RAM, Processor, or HDD that's the issue because they've never gone above about 30% utilisation. Anyway, I'm beginning to think that the issue lies with the USB Ethernet adapters.
Has anyone else experienced similar? What do other people think it could be?
Rich
