Uplinking switches

We have 4 switches that we would like to uplink directly to a SG 230 with a flexport module. Our network will have 3 VLANs without much inter vlan traffic. How does the SG 230

Need to be configured to allow for this configuration?

Thanks.

Please tell us something about your network-design.

    Some options:

You should link the switches with VLAN-trunc and build one VLAN-trunc to SG too.

Then SG can be the routing instance for the VLAN's and you are able to configure Firewall-Rules internally.

If you use l3 switches the switches can make the routing.

If your switches are (virtual-)stackable you can connect two or more links from different switches to the SG. here you need LACP functionality.

  • Will use only layer 2 switches (Aruba 2530), all switches located in same room as SG 230 so I was thinking of uplinking these to SG via Ethernet copper cables.
