Dynamic DNS Strategy - web vs interface

In setting up a dynamic DNS host on the Sophos UTM, what's the difference between web and interface strategy? More specifically, what is the web strategy? I understand interface strategy (the IP from the interface is used, correct me if I'm wrong).

  • if you got the public IP at your Sophos Interface, you can use Interface-strategy.
If you have placed a ISP-Router (and use portforwarding to UTM) you should to a WEB-request and the DDNS Provider use the calling-IP from Web.request (possible the external ISP-IP)
