UTM 9.5 Software vs Hardware ISO on an XG115 appliance?

Just had a quick question as to which ISO is best to use on an XG115 with a Home License ...

Looking inside the ISO’s they seem pretty much identical so aside from the fact

that the home license will not easily activate on the hardware ISO, is there any

other differences that would make it better to use hardware ISO instead ?

  • Hi Escape75,

the are no differents between the software iso and the hardware iso.

But to make it simple install the appliance with the hardware iso, then configure an ssh access.

After the ssh login rename or remove the follwoing file -> /etc/asg

    Reboot the maschine.

If you have done all right you can see in the dashboard software version instead of the hardware model.

Now install your home license without any problem.

    Best Regards

  • Ok, yeah I tried it that way and it worked, and I also tried just the Software ISO and it worked as well.

So I guess there's no difference whether the software or hardware ISO is used.

To enable home license I just edited the asg file and changed the ASG_ID value.
