AP 30 inactive

Hello community.,

i have an AP 30 after recovery which is inactive. AP 30 is shortly reachable with a DHCP-Adress.

Firewall is UTM 9.402.

Is AP 30 now worthless junk or has anyone an idea what to do?

Hi Tim,

Please flash AP30 referring this link. Please make sure that the AP is successfully updated.

If you still get connection problem, please post the wireless.log lines so that I can further investigate.

Hi Sachin,

i have flashed AP30 with the tool from your link. After succesful flashing and reset of AP, AP can be accepted in the WebAdmin and in the log i can see the following line:

2016:05:12-15:50:48 fw-1 awed[24461]: [A4001F5A51FBFA6] sent firmware /etc/wireless/firmware/AP30.uimage to device, releasing connection.

After that i can't see anything in the log and the AP shows slowly blinking led left and rigt, led in the middle is off.

Any idea?

Same here. Two out of five AP30 are bricked. Reanimating them with the reflashin tool works until you connect them to the UTM and they pull the new Firmware again.

Support case has been created.

Hi,

Please DM me the case# which is with Sophos support.

I also suggest an upgrade on firmware v9.4, there is a reported bug NUTM-3066 in the previous firmware version.

I have updated on all stable firmware versions 9.4 and the error is the same. Actually we use firmware 9.402-7.

Sophos Support confirmed this is a bug. BUG-ID: NUTM-4151

As a quick fix our AP30 will be replaced. But this only works if you have Support, of course.

Hi,

i have the same problem with an AP30 REV 1. Our firmware is 9.404-5.

I already used this tool https://community.sophos.com/kb/de-de/118843 and it flashed the firmware, then told me to disconnect the device.

When i plug the AP30 in again it won't find the UTM. Power LED flashes slowly and the Network LED flashes on every second beat.

Any solutions on that?
