Delete or rename the file etc/ASG and you should be able to use the essentials license.

You mean a ASG file in /etc directory?
How can I access this file? 
I tryed to establised a ssh connection, but on default it seemed to be turned off!
(I got a timeout error!)

Hi, do you have a VGA port for a monitor on that 220?

If so, login on the console. You can bypass the login from the GRUB bootloader:

Turn off the firewall. Make sure you have keyboard,mouse, monitor attached to it.

Turn it on, wait for GRUB and prest ESC.

Select "Astaro Security Gateway x.x' (not the previous or rescue). "x.x" represents your current version.

Press 'e' = edit. Select the second entry.

Press 'e' again, type in 'init=/bin/bash'.

Press enter, and then 'b' to boot.

If you're a Home User, there is a home user license which has more features than the Essential license:
https://myutm.sophos.com/

You still need to rename the /etc/asg file.

Now I wanted to create a "home user license",
but at my "myutm.sophos.com" Portal, 
I only have the possibility to create a  "UTM SW Essential Firewall license" 
again!


Bevore I tryed to create a new license,
I deleted my "UTM SW Essential Firewall license"!

Now I got my "home user license" and wanted to enter the grub boot loader,
but the problem ist that after the bios post, the monitor screen goes black
for 5 seconds, and when it appears, linux ist still in boot process!

I tried to press "ESC" while window went black in many different intervals,
but linux ist still booting!

I tried some of the following combinations, but no login possible:

admin  admin, root, no pwd, the password I configured in the first webconfig...

Hi Eric,

When you start the ASG220, you have 30days trial, do the initial setup, and log into webadmin, setup SSH access, and after that rename the files. and after that, install the home license :-) - I just did.
