Installing Software ASG, Stuck

I just bought a Shuttle DS81 and thought this would be a great box for an ASG but I am running into issues with the installation.

The install gets to "detecting other devices" and then gets stuck.

In reading the other posts and looking at the log it seems to me that the in built SD card reader may be causing the issue.

I tried logging into the BIOS and unfortunately there is no way to disable the card reader.  Are there any commands that will allow me to force an install to sda instead of getting stuck on sdb?

Or any other ideas?  I have a note into shuttle to see if there is a way to disable it but I haven't heard back as yet.

Small update.

Initially I was using 9.304.

I also just tried 9.209 and still same issue.

I also found an SD card and installed it in the card reader.  The logs show that it found all devices with SDA as first in the list but the process was still stuck.

Lastly, and this is the interesting one, I detached the SATA ssd and just left the sd card in and the installer stopped on detecting storage devices.  So it looks like it is not trying to install on to the SD as it needs the SSD in order to even get to that step.

Now I am even more confused but hopefully there is an answer out there.  Thank you!

Hi,

1. can you disconnect the SD reader, or it it permanently attached to the motherboard?

2. from your screenshot, I'm not sure that sdb is why the install finally fails.
can you get the install.log file?

1. Unfortunately it is permanently on the MB

2. I apologize but how do I get the install.log off the machine? I found it in the cli but do not know how to move it from there. I have tried googling it but the commands given do not seem to be available. Any ideas here?

3. I did write the support files to a USB though. I have attached those just in case the are useful.

Hi, yes, the install.zip is the right file.

It does seem that the card reader on SDB may be the problem.

Perhaps you can try installing from SD instead of CD or USB?

I was hopeful that would work but unfortunately the same result.  Attached install.zip.

I am also attaching an image of an error I am getting - it flashed by in a fraction of a second.  I used multi-shot to catch this.  Does this mean anything?

Any other thoughts?  I have seen others in this forum install on this hardware so I am not sure what I am missing.

Have your tried installing centos on this setup? Be curious where that stops as well.

Hi Joe - I finally got a chance to download and install CENTOS - worked like a champ - no errors - default install not advanced options. Strange right?
