WIFI inconsistent with connection for laptop

Hello all y'all,

I have SSL VPN connection and am very unfamiliar with setup. I have a laptop I work remote for a company. Several times after getting setup (and working from home) to remote client site (where it is suppose to connect) not server, my connection goes to server. 

Somehow I think it happens after I've gotten on a public (airport) wifi, or maybe updates are needed.

I noticed in "status" that the portion MANAGEMEN:>STATE is different and fails on my laptop for connection.  How do I change the MANAGEMENT:>STATE   to get TCP connection to work? 
Does MANAGEMENT:>STATE correlate to emailaddress?
