Connecting a Sophos AP to a Sophos XG firewall

Hello,

 

I just bought a new sophos AP55 wireless appliance and have been trying to connect it to my sophos XG 310.

The AP55 is currently connected to port 5 on my XG and bridged to the LAN port. But i am not seeing the AP untill now.

Must i connect it to a switch on my network before it is discovered?

Cant i connect it directly to my XG and do my configurations?

    Hi,

    if you want to connect the AP directly to your firewall, you need to configure a DHCP-server for the connected network interface. After that your AP should get an IP-lease and you should see it in "Wireless".
