[Sophos Notification] Advisory: Sophos Email - Encryption service scheduled maintenance June 4th

Overview

On Thursday, June 4th,2020, there will be a period of scheduled maintenance carried out on the Sophos Email Encryption service. 

Important Note: This only applies to the specific encryption options outlined below. This does not impact mail delivered via TLS, either enforced or opportunistic.

Impact

Between 11:00 am EDT and 17:00 EDT there will be a short window (anticipated to be less than 45 minutes) where:

  • Outbound mail that matches the actions below will be queued. This will be delivered once the ~ window (< 45 minutes) is complete
    • "Send via TLS if available" and TLS is not possible to the remote server
    • "Encrypt entire message" 
    • "Encrypt Attachments only" 
  • Recipients of encrypted mails attempting to access the encryption web portal (for example, to change passwords, register to receive a new email, send a secure reply) will see the following message
