Unblock a website in Sophos Central Admin

There are two ways to do this, either:

1) use Category Override to specify a different category (eg Business) which you are allowing in your Web Control policy

2) add you own tag for the site (e.g. allowed_sites) then add that tag your Web Control policy under "Control sites tagged in Website Management" as allowed

When you use method 2 you should not specify a category in the Category Override.

You can also submit a request to have it re-classified via:
https://secure2.sophos.com/en-us/support/contact-support.aspx

Go to endpoint protection on your SOPHOS central. (not Global settings)

And open Web Management.

The site can be recategorized there.

Then go and update the connection from your endpoint security,

Should work like a charm!

I have a website used for proxy voting in our organization, www.proxypush.com, that sophos is blocking. The website has nothing to do with web proxies or translators.

I have set the category to "Business" and added it to a Temporary Web Exception policy that we use to test websites before granting further access. This policy has worked in the past for allowing access to a website.

After adding myself to this policy and updating my local Sophos client, I am still unable to reach this website. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Can you please confirm if you still seeing this issue? I checked the mentioned site www(.)proxypush(.)com and see that it is classified under business category from our end.

Sorry, I didn't think anyone saw this since I didn't create a new thread.

It looks like our Sophos endpoing clients were not downloading policy for a couple of days. They seem to have corrected themselves, but I'm monitoring the situation and will contact support if needed.

Wouldn't you know it - the FQDN I use to reach one customer's Sophos appliance is also classified as 'Alcohol & Tobacco' - it's the second choice at the top of the category list.  Looks like there might be a bug that incorrectly applies that category to uncategorized FQDNs.

Hey, i´ve got also a problem with our intranet. The clients should not be able to connect to any websites except our Intranet.

so i add a the page like intranet.company.local to Endpoint Protection - Website-Management and the page appear.

But if i click on a link the next page is still blocked ( intranet.comany.local/management/mangement.pdf )

i tried also to add the link as intranet.company.local/* but it dont work..
