Mac computers no internet update from cache server only

We have several mac computers that are in a Lab and they don't have the ability to access the internet directly. What I am wondering is if I get the agent installed on the Mac will it be able to get updates from just the internal cache server, since it won't be able to contact the Sophos Central cloud servers will client still function correctly?   I am really concerned about is having it scan the file system and any external storage that gets attached to it.

  • Yes you should be able to manually assign the Mac to your Update Cache. You can also consider setting up a Message Relay, which can be used if you do not have internet facing devices, as all traffic will go via the Message Relay. A Message Relay augments the Update Cache capability, allowing an Update Cache server to be used as a Message Relay in addition to serving updates.

    Thanks!
