Sophos Central Migration Tool not detecting any computers

We have installed the latest migration tool, 2.0.1, and it does not list any computers.  We have installed on the same server that is running all of the local Sophos Enterprise services. SEC v5.5

No errors come up when launching, are there logs I can check, or a service I need to give a nudge to?

Thanks,

Steve

  • Hello Steve,

you have installed the tool, performed a basic assessment, and the list is empty? Could you perhaps provide a screenshot?
I'm not familiar with the tool but I assume it would have complained if the database is remote. Anyway, please see here for the logs.

  • I have installed the tool, when launching it prompts to link to Central account, that goes ok. Then the tool opens and is just empty. I do notice now, a message along the bottom about a problem downloading latest data from central.  I will see if maybe my firewall is blocking something.

  • The red error message went away after closing/opening, I believe it timed out due to being left open for a couple of days.

  • Hello Steve Deviller,

as said, I'm not familiar with the tool.
Unfortunately the screenshot is of low resolution but I think above the pane where the computers should be shown it says Computers in the selected sub-estate. Wonder if it has to do with sub-estates - though unlikely that you have an empty SE let alone selected it. There are two rather cryptic known issues though, one in the Release Notes and another in the Sophos Central Migration base article.

    Christian

  • Thank you. These articles helped.  I have never looked at the roles or sub-estates before. I ended up assigning my domain admin user rights to the 'Default' sub-estate and this seems to have corrected the issue.
