Sophos Central Firewall Manager (CFM) maintenance scheduled for Wednesday, July 8th starting at 06:30 GMT. Expected time to complete is 5 hours. Partners will be unable to access CFM during this period.

Sophos Cloud Migration Tool

We are starting our migration to Sophos Central and every time we launch the Sophos Cloud Migration Tool we get an application crash error as seen in the below snapshot.

Any help would be very appreciated.

    Do you see any specific error under Event logs? Also please check under the location C:\ProgramData\Sophos\Cloud Migration Tool\Logs\CloudMigration.log, if you see any error?

    Thanks for the info, looks it was firewall related.

     

    However now I have an error on the update Mangers status screen 

    The first error is the Enterprise server itself and the 3 update Manager is a remote location.

     

    Below is the last couple of lines from the MigrationAgent Log file on the Enterprise update server

    2020-05-22T13:13:33Z INFO Updating CIDs with a migration package located at C:\ProgramData\Sophos\MigrationAgent\Cache\
    2020-05-22T13:13:33Z INFO Number of CIDs to update: 1
    2020-05-22T13:13:33Z ERROR Deploy operation skipped for customized CID C:\ProgramData\Sophos\Update Manager\Update Manager\CIDs\S000\SAVSCFXP
    2020-05-22T13:13:33Z ERROR Migration package deployment operation failed: Failed to update all CIDs

     

    Below is the last couple of lines from the MigrationAgent Log file on the remote update server

    Failed to remove package from CID: Invalid upd file at C:\ProgramData\Sophos\Update Manager\Update Manager\CIDs\S000\SAVSCFXP\cidsync2.upd : Invalid entry length.
    2020-05-22T13:18:39Z ERROR Failed to update CID C:\ProgramData\Sophos\Update Manager\Update Manager\CIDs\S000 ( Failed to deploy package to CID)
    2020-05-22T13:18:39Z ERROR Migration package deployment operation failed: Failed to update all CIDs

    I still have the following errors in the Migration Agent Log file on a remote update server.

    2020-05-29T09:39:38Z ERROR Migration package deployment operation failed: Failed to update all CIDs

     

    How do I resolve this issue?

    Just wanted to confirm if you have tried the steps sent to you via PM? Also, if you can please PM me the complete logs of the Migration Agent Log file?

    Some of the files did not exist to be removed so I did not perform the deletion tasks.

     

    I will send you the complete Migration Logs.

    Could you please confirm if you have subscribed to the Windows XP and 2003 Extended Support package? As the Migration tool does not support either of these operating systems and many of the times you see the above error.

    The tool has been working I have successfully migrated 140 systems over to Sophos Central, now it has now stopped working?

    I certainly understand your concern, but this error occurs many of the times if at all you have subscribed to Windows XP and 2003 Extended Support package. The message can be ignored if that is the case here, as the migration tool does not support any of these operating systems.

    We have not subscribed to Windows XP and 2003 Extended Support package, I am aware that if you have subscribed the message can be ignored the message can be ignored that is not the case here, as the migration tool is no longer allowing the package to be distributed to other SUM's or systems to be migrated to Sophos Central.
