We have a recent issue with OneDrive on-demand not working which I think is being caused by Sophos Endpoint. Has anyone else experience this?
Was fine until recently but now OneDrive is syncing all files down to the client regardless of whether Files on Demand is turned on. I suspect it is being caused by Sophos Real Time Scanning seeing the placeholder and pulling the file down.
Interested if anyone else has the same issue?
Simeon
Following testing we've narrowed this down to a compatability issue with Window 10 1709 with Sophos EndPoint.
If anyone else is running the combination of Windows 170 and Sophos Endpoint, I would be grateful for confirmation that the combination doesn't support OneDrive Files on-demand. Specfically, Sophos Endpoint forces the remote files to be downloaded to the device regardless of whether Files on-demand is configured.
Note that this is not an issue with Windows 10 1803 or above.
Kind regards

I am seeing the same issues with Mac users on OS version 10.14.2.
We are seeing this issue with Windows 10 version 1903, Sophos Endpoint Advanced version 10.8.3. This is not an issue with SEC client.

Hi Nancy Risch
I would request you to open a support case as certain logs need to be collected for this issue for in-depth investigation. Kindly PM me the case number once you have opened the support case.
We have the same issue, W10 1903 EP 10.8.3.441 intercept X 2.0.15.2.
My college has a case open with support, so far no fix, ongoing\noticed since 9/10/2019.

Hi McDuck
Would it be possible to PM me the case number you have registered with Sophos Support? We are seeing some issue with our endpoint defence component when using One Drive files on demand. Our Development team is currently working on the same.

Done!
If its of any help, we had the issue fixed for us by Sophos back in August, case #9051101. We were issued a patch which seemingly fixed it (at least for now).
Hi Simeon Lewis
Thank you for providing the case number. The patch applied is scheduled for the next upcoming release. Once it is released, we will update on our community forums. You can also subscribe to our SMS notification service to get the release details.
We have been given an updated version of SophosED.sys this seems to have resolved the issue.
yes, that's what we received, too. It appears to have fixed it. Sounds like it is being released to all this month.
Shame its taken this long for it to be released!
