[Sophos Notification] Microsoft's July updates on Windows 10 break several file encryption capabilities of SafeGuard Enterprise 8.0 / SafeGuard LAN Crypt 3.95.3

Hi everyone,

Microsoft has released cumulative updates for several Windows 10 versions in July 2019 (e.g. KB4505903, KB4505658), that are impacting specific functionalities of the SafeGuard Enterprise version 8.0 file encryption modules (File Encryption, Data Exchange, Synchronized Encryption and Cloud Storage) and SafeGuard LAN Crypt 3.95.

Users with SafeGuard Enterprise client version 8.00.5 may encounter issues after installing the Microsoft July cumulative updates for Windows 10 version 1903 (19H1), KB4505903 and version 1809 (RS5), KB4505658. If you use any of the file encryption modules of SafeGuard Enterprise 8.00.5, Sophos recommends that you do not install the above updates or remove these from affected systems.

Computers running SafeGuard Enterprise 8.10 or later, running Windows 10 versions earlier than version 1809 (RS5), or that only use SafeGuard Enterprise full disk encryption is NOT affected by this issue.
