Secure email app, push notifications on iOS

Hello,

We are currently testing SMC 7.1.x with the secure email-app on iOS.

The problem is that the push-notifications don't work properly. I read a few posts here, but I still don't get it completely.

I sometimes do get a notification, half an hour after an email arrived.... and sometimes it never arrives.

My question is:

Is the secure email-app capable of showing push notifications the moment a new email arrives? And will that also work when the app is NOT in background (closed)

This is currently a known issue within Sophos Secure Email.

It is expected to release a new version of SME with a different push notification procedure by end of February. Follow us on Twitter for Release notifications.

Hi Haridoss Sreenivasan,

We installed version 8.0.5 of Sophos Mobile and the push notifications still don't work (properly) on IOS.

Under the profile 'Corporate Email' we set the setting of notifications on: System > New emails.

Or do we still need to wait for a SSE(Sophos Secure E-mail) update?

Hi Haridoss,

Yeah, the EWS notifications were not enabled... So now it works.

Still we have a question: Why do we only see "new email" in the push notification. Why can't we configure the Sender + subject in the notification?

We are using a hosted Exchange service. Our service provider runs Exchange 2013 servers but does not support basic authentication procedure for its EWS. According to the server operator only Windows authentication is supported for EWS. Is there any work around to make real push notifications work in such an environment?
