iOS Application update prompting to update or cancel instead of installing silently

While pushing out an APP update on a managed/supervised device is now prompting the user to update or cancel. All notifications are turned off and were working up until a couple of weeks ago

More information. On the Apps I am trying to update is running the prompt appears, but when I am not running the App the update pushes out silently.....What am I missing?

Could you please check if the option "Automatically update iOS VPP apps assigned to devices" is enabled. Please refer to the following link to check app assignment settings.
