No Exchange iOS sync after upgrade to Sophos Mobile 9.0.2

Hello,

we have upgraded Sophos Mobile from 8.6.5 to 9.0.2.

Now no Exchange E-Mail sync on all iOS devices.

Is this a known issue?

Please help! :/

  • Had a customer report this last night as well; I think support has asked them to disable httpv2 in mobile control (apparently a new feature or something broke with it)...

    Doesn't work.... nevermind.

Take a snapshot or whatever backup you want to first (as this is totally unproven as a fix yet, I do not accept any responsibility for things going awry)… and:

    Using Chrome

    Logged in as SuperAdmin

Use the Chrome Console , Press F12

    Click on Console

Punch in that command:   add --disable-http2

Dunno if a reboot is needed or not after (wouldn't hurt probably).  Again, try at YOUR OWN RISK.

  • Well found that does not work... so ignore the above.

  • Hi,

no, you are right. http2 is the problem.

I had a remote session with sophos technican.

But you have to change it two times from true to false in the "smc-config" file on the MDM Server

and restart the service. Change in browser developer tools is not working.

But there is another problem with the header.

After change no password question popup on the clients.

They have to type their password in account settings.

I wait for a hotfix and let the config without eas proxy on my devices.

  • Yep, official answer:

To disable HTTP/2, perform the following steps:

    • Go to the Server where Sophos Mobile is installed
    • Stop the Sophos Mobile service
    • Go to the folder %MDM_HOME%\wildfly\standalone\configuration\
    • Create a backup of the existing "smc-config.xml" in a different location
    • Edit the "smc-config.xml"
    • Search for enable-http2="true" and change the value from "true" to "false"
    • Repeat the search as two entries have to be changed
    • Save the file
    • Start the Sophos Mobile service

  • Restored server to a backup with version 8.
All devices sync and emails working correctly. Only issue is "Mail Days to Sync" on iOS devices will only allow 3 days even though the profile on the server is set to 30.
    Updated server to version 9
Made changes to http2 from true to false as the knowledge base states.
Emails are flowing to iOS devices after change.
Attempt to enroll an ipad which is successful
Pushed out email profile to ipad and received the prompt for password
    Entered password correctly
Newly enrollled ipad is NOT receiving email even though other iOS devices, which were enrolled before the version 9 update are receiving emails. Same email profile on both.
  • Sounds like this mandatory version 9 upgrade is too unstable to rely on.

Is everyone having the same issues? Or is it only causing issues to a certain configuration?

When will a stable version be released?

  • Hi,

    same issue here:

Exchnage 2016, iOS Devices - not working any more. Had to roll back using a snapshot - but very bad that there was no hint within the marketing E-Mail yesterday.
