Renewed the APNS certificate, but didn't install it in the MDM before the expiration date. Can I install it now?

According to Mobile Control, our APNs certificate expired on May 16, 2018.

According to Apple, it was renewed on Feb 26, 2018.

It looks like it was never installed in the MDM, so it shows up as having expired, so we must have lost control of our devices. If I install the renewed certificate now (5 months later), will I seamlessly get control back, or do I have to re-enroll each device anyway? I'm going to have to install it no matter what, I just want to know what to expect afterwards.

Thank you!

  • I got following text from another vendor “If a certificate expires, you cannot manage the devices anymore until you renew it.”

So I would assume it would be possible to regain access. But honestly I don’t know. At least I am very keen on your results so it would be nice if you share your experience.

    Best regards
