Auto Sync of Sophos Mobile App - DEP Deployment

Hi Guys,

We have just started rolling out profiles via DEP Auto enrollment. However the task bundle does not start to install until the sophos control app has synchrionised and talked into the server. We are currently having to manually open the app on the device and then click sync.

Does anyone know of a way to force the app to sync automatically when first installed?

Hi Peter King,

Please confirm if you have followed the steps mentioned in the below document while creating DEP profile and let me know if that helps.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes i have followed the steps of creating a DEP Profile and selecting the install SMC App as part of this. However once the app installs on the device, it does not automatcially start syncing as the app has not been opened.

on every version of smc since dep was introduced in version 6 this has been an issue. unfortunately no way round this that i have found. wait for the app to sync or once you see that its installed simply open the app and the tasks are started.
