OSX 10.13 prompting "action required" security

firstly, i have read the following two articles:

https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/127413

https://support.home.sophos.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005574086-Nothing-happens-when-clicking-the-Allow-button-on-macOS-High-Sierra-10-13

And i am currently in the situation where nothing is happening when i click the allow button. I have also ran "sudo spctl --master-disable" on the mac to allow all from everywhere and that has not helped either. User is constantly prompted to "action required", but when you click on allow, nothing happens.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled sophos as well. Machine is a recent image. Before i re image again (sigh) is there any other way to fix this like from the command line or something? I know its OSX's fault, but this should work. I've had to do this before for other software and it has worked before. Any other tricks? i am not aware of any other mouse customization software, however the user does have an wacom tablet.

  • Ok well that was easy actually. I just unplugged the wacom tablet and plugged in a regular mouse. And then i was able to click and it worked fine after a reboot. i guess thats solved then....

sometimes i just gotta write it all down and then i get an idea for a solution. hope it helps someone else.
