How to exclude a folder (+subfolders) from Sophos ?

Hi,

we have the following problem: We are using an program which is using a file based database. Therefore a parallel access is not allowed.
The application is working sometimes, sometimes not. The log file of the application is showing an error message indicating access of the virus scanner
while the user is working.

We have configured a global rule to exclude the local path  D:\APP\PRG\ and \\SRV\PRG\ from scanning. This seem's no to work.

So how can we configure is correctly, or how can we monitor what sophos is doing ?

The client is starting the application using \\SRV\PRG\App.exe to start the application.

W2012R2 running Sophos 10.8 .  (Server)

W2003R2 running Sophos 10.8 .  (Client)

WIN7 without SOPHS .  (Client)

Bye, Peer

  • Hello Peer,

this is not exactly a Self Help question as ESH is a specific tool. Anyway ...
the application is showing an error message indicating access of the virus scanner
could you show this message and and how it's indicating access of the virus scanner? Is the database indeed stored under this path? What Sophos does is scanning a file in response to an open or a close after write - normally this is transparent to the application.
