Non-Domain Laptops Fails to Update On Enterprise Console Protected Domain

I use an Enterprise Console (version 5.4.1) server to manage domain PC's and laptops on our network.  I also have a few laptops joined to an Azure domain or are not joined to a domain at all. These laptops rarely connect to our network.  I've installed Sophos on these laptops without using the console. A stand alone installation if you will, that gets updates directly from Sophos.

My issue is that when the these laptops do connect to our network, updates fail.  They do not fail any other time. This is especially annoying when building out a new machine.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    the Endpoint forum would be the better place for this question.

    a stand alone installation
    did you install with the SA version from the download page? Is Sophos configured as the Primary location?
    Please check the ALUpdate log (in %ProgramData%\SophosAutoUpdate\Logs\), if you can't determine the cause fell free to post a complete failing cycle here.
