Download of PMSR Data failed from server http://pmw-dynamic.sophos.com/pmw/charlie/

Anyone have any solutions for this error. It started about 10 days ago. It only displays this error every second update.  Log shows:

Antivirus is latest and Console upgraded to 5.5.0 but still has this error. Updates to Pure Message for Exchange show updated successfully. But error reported on Console for very other update for server machine. My only worry is that the spam rules are not being updated correctly.

Any help greatly appreciated.

  • Hello Graham Bancroft.

PureMessage is probably the better forum group.
Anyway, SEC (or its version) is not involved, PM updates the spam rules directly from Sophos. BTW, you'll see the Updated successfully mainly only after a failed update (or a forced one), not all subsequent successful updates are logged.
The detailed ALUpdate logs might have a description of the actual error - it could be transient (Support should be able to tell you if there are known backend issues).
