We are running Enterprise Console Version 5.5.0. since mid January when we did the last upgrade. The SophosPatch52 database is rather large 1673 MB as we it was upgraded over the years.

SQL Server version is: Microsoft SQL Server 2016 (SP1-GDR) (KB4019089) - 13.0.4206.0 (X64)   Jul  6 2017 07:55:03

Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation  Standard Edition (64-bit) on Windows Server 2016 Standard 6.3 <X64> (Build 14393: ) (Hypervisor)

Every failure indicates to the same "2018-02 Security Update for Adobe Flash Player"... The first message was on 23rd of February.

So here are my questions:

1. What is the impact of this on application? Are the other protection files still collected and processed?

2. Is there a way to clear this (e.g. processing this patch manually?)

Any advice would be appreciated?

Regards

Maciej

  • Hello Maciej,

on 15th and 16th there was just one informational error with an apparently successful retry. Then from 19th warnings (failed install/update) about a Chrome patch rescheduled every six hours, yesterday's run was successful and the Events Viewer shows OK. Thus it might be transient.
It shouldn't affect processing of other patches and I'm not aware that you can manually process it.

You could try DBCC SHRINKDATABASE, though I just did it with 10% free and it's now about 1300MB.

  • Dear Christian

I searched this issue before and I shrinked database before and checked that indexes exist.

I will monitor the system for another week and if this continues will open an issue with Sophos

    Maciej

  • Just to let you know. The issue disappeared yesterday morning.

The log was clean today just start/end message.

Christian thank you for your response.

    Regards,

    Maciej
