Error: Scanning is disabled

Hi,

One of the user is getting the below error message frequently and attaches is the screenshot for your reference.

"Scanning is disabled, files you access are not currently being scanned by sophos". 

May i know what could be the issue.

    I haven't seen this particular message. Usually when On-Access is deliberately disabled or the service is stopped the wording is slightly different and starts with On-access scanning disabled.

    Please check

    • if all Sophos services are running
    • if there's a file named Sophos Anti-Virus Startup Log.txt in C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Temp\
    • if something is written to C:\ProgramData\Sophos\Sophos Anti-Virus\logs\SAV.txt
    • for errors in the Windows Event logs

    AutoUpdate and RMS are running? What's the endpoint's status in SEC?
