Failed to connect to the firewall driver, error 2. Please ... contact ... support

Whenever I start my PC or attempt to restart the Sophos Firewall service I get the following error: 4/25/2011 5:28:53 pm Failed to connect to the firewall driver, error 2. Please restart your computer and, if the symptoms persist, contact Sophos technical support. How do I fix this?

    Error 2 usually suggests file not found:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms681382(v=vs.85).aspx

    I can only assume that the driver file or files are not there, i.e.

    \windows\system32\drivers\scfdriver.sys
    \windows\system32\drivers\scfndis.sys


    You could also run from a command prompt:
    driverquery | find "scf"
    to see if the above are loaded or run msinfo32 and take a look under:
    "Software environment" - "System drivers"

    If they are not there, I would suggest a reinstall might be the easiest fix.
