Error 80070057 when reprotecting protected clients.


As above.  Running Enterprise console 5.5.1 on 2k12r2 VM.  Get an error almost immediately after trying to re-protect.  We also have the same console/OS version on different server (backup) and have same problem.  We can protect new clients that doesn't have any Sophos installed.

    This is usually a networking issue, ie, if there are multiple NICs installed on the machine or are configured incorrectly. Can you see if the suggestion in this post helps?

    Surely that would affect the machine without sophos on?  The clients only have one NIC.

    Would you please check under event logs or temp folder logs what exactly is causing the issue and the error listed? As this error refers to something(component) which is failing to get installed.

    Well both seem to be working fine now after logging onto one (domain admin) and the other turning off tamper protection.  We still cant seem to get enhanced protection (how i managed to find this issue) installed.

    Tested on another PC and had to log onto windows in order to re-protect..

    Were you able to review event viewer logs or install logs in C:\Windows\Temp or %localappdata%\temp to see what's failing as  mentioned?

    Was there anything in the RMS logs (if at all) from the post I shared?
