Can't exempt Sophos Endpoint Device Control Event

We recently joined several computers (OptiPlex 3030 AIO) to our domain and Sophos is configured for device control.

Email alerts started to come in:

A device control event occurred on machine xxx-xxxxxx when user domain\user was logged on.

Device control failed to process device: deviceId=PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8168&SUBSYS_06231028&REV_0C\01000000684CE00000, errorCode=0x80070102.

Lookup for Vendor 10ec and Device 8168 returned:

Device Control Policy for Network is only applicable for Modem/Wireless.

How do we address this failed device control event?

Thanks.

  • Hello Reynante Francisco,

Device Control Policy for Network is only applicable for Modem/Wireless
in principle correct, but please note the Block bridged option - DC must identify and assess the LAN adapters in order to facilitate this option. For whatever reason this fails. Please contact Support directly as some debugging is likely needed.
