Upgrade ESA from hardware vm version from 7 to vm version 11

Dears,

A customer must upgrade the version of the virtual hardware from 7 to 11 because the backup software requires this VM version.

Is there any known issue performing this upgrade.

    You will not be able to make any hardware changes or upgrade vmware tools.

    the appliance "may" work with vmotion and other resources functions but it is not supported or recommended and may cause damage to the vm.  Should this happen you will need to deploy a fresh vm. 

    Unless otherwise stated, the following tools are available:

    • Host to Guest Communications (Guest Daemon): Enabled.
    • Guest to Host Log Channel: Not available.
    • Memory Balloon Driver: Enabled.
    • Host to Guest Filesystem: Not available.
    • Soft Power Operations: Enabled.
    • Host-Guest TimeSync: Not available. Time synchronization for virtual appliances is handled using NTP.
