Virtual Email Appliance missing the Policy > Anti-Virus settings tab

Hi there,

We have just installed a clustered pair of the Virtual Email Appliance.

I am going through initial configuration and I am trying to look at the settings for Anti-Virus but the tab is missing under the policy section. (See screen grab)

Any ideas how this gets activated or how I can access these settings?

Also in the first launch config, you have the anti-spam settings where you have the options of Passthrough mode, Pilot Mode, or Full mode.

How do you go about changing this afterwards?

Many thanks,

Pete

  • Hi Pete,

The initial setup creates those rules under the threat protection and antivirus sections.  In short they affect the "action" of the rule, so for instance "pilot mode" the action under threat protection will be drop files and continue (this will quarantine the virus but send a copy of the message less attachment to the user)

    The defaults are:

    threat protection:

unscannable attachments to all, continue processing

encrypted attachments to all, continue processing

sophos labs, suspect attachments quarantine, drop file and continue.

    under antispam

    high spam is discard

    medium spam is quarantine
