As Badrobot said, you must add the Gmail's servers IP addresses to the allow list. That IPs are:

54.240.51.52
54.240.51.53

Do you have access to a g-Suite? Or is this there personal emails created free on gmail. I do not think they will go through unless you whitelist the domains, which you cannot do unless you are using something like Gmail. As far as I know or would assume Phish Threat is intended for IT with admin access to the email servers, unless Sophos worked out some deal with gmail.
