Exclusions not working

Sophos Central is showing "Malware detected" and "Malware cleaned up" events for a server protected by a Sophos Security VM.  The folders in which the malware was detected are in the exclusions list for the applied server policy.  The folders belong to mail security software.  It appears as though exclusions are not working.

    Sorry to hear this, could you please send us the logs to support so we can investigate further, also any screenshots of the exclusion entries you have created.

  • When I setup The Security VMs I assigned my existing server policy which included Windows exclusions, I was not aware that there were exclusions specifically for Virtual Servers.  I created a new Policy using "File or Folder (Virtual Server)" exclusions.  I assigned the new policy to the Security VMs and have not had a malware detection in any excluded folders.  I will continue to monitor and if a detection occurs in an excluded I will submit logs.  Thank you.
