Migrate SEC 5.2 to SEC 5.5 on new server Windows 2012 R2

Question

Hi... 

Right now I have Sophos Enterprise Console 5.2.0.644 running on a Windows 2008 R2. I plan to change server to Windows 2012 R2 and install the new version of SEC 5.5.

Do you have any advice and steps for me to plan this migration properly?

 the recommended way is to upgrade 5.2.0 to 5.5.0 on the 2008R2, then migrate the 5.5.0 installation to 2012.

 the products are be independent, so you can remove it without causing problems - OTOH the Policy Editor shouldn't interfere with the upgrade, you might as well leave it alone.
