5.2.2 -> 5.4.1 upgrade, removing "Encryption"

(I have read https://community.sophos.com/products/endpoint-security-control/f/sophos-enterprise-console/76749/sec-5-4-install)

Trying to upgrade SEC from 5.2.2 to 5.4.1. Stopped the Service "Sophos Encryption Business Logic Service", restarted the machine, and ran "msiexec /i Server64.msi REMOVE=Encryption" from elevated cmd in c:\sec_541:

Even if I would know the values required (Serverport etc.), it doesn't even tell me how to supply those parameters exactly. What am I supposed to do here? Call support or my sophos partner to do a simple removal for a retired component that I never used or I even heard before (Encryption)?

  • Hello IVS,

    an oversight probably.
    What the msiexec command should do is to remove a feature from an existing install, something normally done with a Modify dialog. Now Modify (like Uninstall) only works with the original installer package, thus you have to  run the one from the C:\sec_522 directory.
