EM Reporter Viewer error. "Failed to export the report" when attempting to export PDF report from SEC 5.2.2

I am unable to export reports to PDF format from the Sophos Management Server or from any other additional SEC console. Exporting to other report formats work fine BUT NOT PDF.

How can I fix this?

  • Hello LElizondo,

hm ... if you schedule a report and select PDF as output format - does this also fail? The console (UI) language is English, isn't it? Anything in the Windows Event Viewer? AFAIK the report function uses .NET and some Syncfusion libraries for producing the PDF ...

  • Scheduled PDF reports also fail. Created a new scheduled report and again fails.

No Application or System error events logged during scheduled time (+/- 5 minutes).

Perhaps dlls need to be reregistered, as is common with other product like Crystal Reports?

There were .NET security patches released in November....anyone else having problems?

    I'm running SEC 5.2.2 on Server 208 R2 x64 bit (fully patched).

  • Removing .NET patches did not resolve issue from main SEC server nor additional consoles.

    List of .NET patches removed:
-Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 (KB3098781)
-Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 (KB3097996)

    Any ideas how to repair/fix?

  • Hello Luis,

did it work before? I've no idea what could need fixing. Guess the PDF is created locally - that the export fails on all machines the same way is somewhat strange. I think you should open a case with Support.
