Data read from the update source for subscription 'Preview' was invalid' seen in SEC.

Hi All,

We are facing issue  in SEC since 23rtc Oct 2020. Sophos update manager has last updates since 23rd oct 2:31 AM

It's showing below errors on SUM :

1. Update Manager Status:

Error Code :80040410 :  Data read from the update source for subscription 'Preview' was invalid' seen in SEC and Software Failed Delivery.

2. Software Subscription Status :

Error Code : 00000001 : The update source location is invalid

SEC Version : 5.5.1

Can you please check and let us know why SUM is not updating ? do we need to make any changes in SUM ?

    first of all, I'm not Sophos. Furthermore, this is not a general problem and without some detailed information from your side it's not possible to tell if you have to make any changes in SUM.

    The problem is only with the Preview subscription, not Recommended - isn't it? And your update source is Sophos?
    I'd suggest that you stop the Update Manager service. Then delete the contents of the Warehouse (%ProgramData%\Sophos\Update Manager\Update Manager\Warehouse\) and Working (%ProgramData%\Sophos\Update Manager\Working\) folders. Start the SUM service and trigger an update. If the problem persists we'd have to check the SUMTrace log (in %ProgramData%\Sophos\Update Manager\Logs\)..
