SEC not showing clients. Server 2016

Hi all,

I've recently set up the SEC for Server 2016. I have it detecting all of the computers on the domain and it can do "Protect this computer" and the installer runs without fail.

The issue i'm running into is the computers that are set up do not show up in the console as set up. they only show that they are still downloading and installing the client.

I've restarted each computer after the client finishes install, but no luck on showing up in the client.

any suggestions?

  • Have you opened TCP port 8194 and TCP 8192 on the server?

Ideally the clients would have TCP 8194 open also but they work without but downstream messages will take longer to get to the clients.  Up to 22.5 mins.

    Regards,

  • HI Jak,

I have those ports open for both the server and the clients through Group Policy.

The clients are able to pull updates from the server as well, but it cannot manage them in the console.

  • Can you attach (drag into the text editor) a Router log file from a client?

    \programdata\sophos\remote management system\3\router\logs\

If the last one is large.  Maybe just restart the Sophos Message Router service and wait 5 minutes before gathering the new one created.

    Regards,

    Jak
