What Is LiveConnect? And how do I get it licensed?

I have inherited a customer that has a Sophos UTM 110/120 box.  On it, they have Antivirus software that is connected to something called LiveConnect.  The license has expired.  When I google LiveConnect, the first result is a community post entitled "Sophos UTM - Sophos LiveConnect is disabled" -- not very helpful.  Can anyone explain to me what this is and how to get it licensed?  Where would I log in to access the licenses and/or connect it to my UTM via the "key" or...  anything?  Is this product even still available?

Any input would be much appreciated.

  • Live connect is the Sophos Broker service. You need a Basic guard (UTM 100 or 110) or Full guard license on the UTM for it to be enabled.

Once enabled, it allows clients with Sophos endpoint protection to use the UTM so that if you set a web control rule on the UTM, when the client is not on the lan side of the UTM eg other side of the world, the UTM policies staill apply. It even goes further in that if you update the web policy etc, the updated policy is downloaded to the client the next time it updates.
