Any comments would highly be appropriated!

  • Hello Alper Sahin,

haven't seen that one for a long time. Apart from this error - does it work properly? SCF should recover from this error and continue to work. It means that there was some error or inconsistency in the database which holds the log on the endpoint. IIRC some, many, or all records might be lost. As said, should happen very rarely. Was this a one-time event, if not - does it still recur after a reboot?

  • Hi Christian,

Thanks for your reply. It works properly despite of this error. Last time I have get this error was 4 days ago. I performed reboot and error remains the same, I have deleted the Machine from the console and let it sync again but no joy.

  • Hello Alper Sahin,

SCF uses the ODBC Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb) to create and access the database in %ProgramData%\Sophos\Sophos Client Firewall\logs\.
I have deleted the Machine from the console
deleting a computer just sets the Deleted flag which excludes the computer from the display, the flag is reset (and everything appears again) with the next message sent from the endpoint so this has no effect. Unlikely that there's an issue with the SCF install (but only with a reinstall you could overcome it). Normally the driver can deal with the requests but of course it's not a server-grade database engine and now and then there could be errors especially when the machine is under load and at the same time database pruning (cleaning) is required. What are your Log settings (keep all or delete old, database size, ... in the policy?
