on-access scanner could not create transaction context

I'm getting this error daily on 3 PCs (error code e03d0044 The on-access scanner could not create a transaction context) however there is no record of this error within the Sophos knowledge base. Anyone got any ideas? It isn't stopping PCs updating or scanning, it just seems to appear when the PCs boot up in the morning. The PCs are running Vista Business and Sophos AV is up to date. We are using Enterprise Console version 3

  • Transactions were introduced in Vista to ensure IO operations end in a known state,
so that would explain why you have the issue on Vista only and any XP machines are ok?
I would suggest applying the latest SP to one of the machines and see if the problem stops.
    Thanks,

    Hi,

I would suggest applying the latest Vista SP to one of the machines and see if the problem stops, if so you know what to do to the others.

Alternatively, can you try SAV 9 on one of these machines, even if it's only standalone?

    Thanks,

    Jak
