"Wanna" ransomware outbreak. Please see this Sophos article sophos.com/kb/126733 for advice on how to protect your organization. Immediate action recommended.
When running Sophos Anti-Virus for Unix, version 7.0, on Solaris, you experience all three of the following issues:
root 5320 1 0 July 21 ? 3:41 savd etc/savd.cfg root 7113 5320 0 23:53:08 ? 0:00 savd etc/savd.cfg
First seen in SAV for Unix 7.0.0
Operating system Seen on Solaris SPARC architecture. May also occur on other versions of Solaris.
One savd process is the child of the other (the first column after root is the pid, the 2nd is the pid of the process's parent process, so 7113 is the child of 5320). On a healthy system you would only see one savd process, not two.
This is a Sophos known issue, defect number DEF 42015, it will be fixed in a future release.
The workaround is to disable email notifications. You can do that from the enterprise console or on the client computer. For further information on how to do this on the client computer, refer to Appendix C of the User Manual.
